Accessibility statement

Dr. Friedland wants everyone who visits this site, or the practice, to be able to get the information and care they need. This statement explains what has been done to make that possible, where the site falls short, and how to get help.

Conformance status

This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other accessibility law. Conformance means the site is built so people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or speech input can use every part of it.

Measures taken

  • Automatic accessibility checks are run on every page, and the site's markup is built to validate against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
  • Semantic HTML — landmarks, headings, lists, and labeled form fields — so screen readers announce content in a sensible order.
  • Full keyboard operability: every link, button, and form control can be reached and used without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background, checked against WCAG AA contrast thresholds.
  • Responsive layout from 320 px phones to wide desktops, with text that scales when you enlarge your browser's font size, and support for reduced-motion preferences.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.

Accessibility of the practice itself

The Beverly Hills office is reachable by elevator and requires no stairs to enter or to reach the consultation room. Telehealth sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant platform that supports live captioning and screen readers, and sessions can be conducted as audio-only calls when video is not workable for you. Session materials can be provided in large print or read aloud, and interpreters or other assistive services can be arranged with advance notice. Please mention any access need when scheduling, so the visit can be arranged accordingly.

Known limitations

  • Embedded logos of media outlets are served as images with short names; their full publication names are spelled out in the surrounding text.
  • Some older linked articles and external resources may not yet meet the same conformance level; Dr. Friedland encourages anyone who hits a barrier there to let the practice know.

This statement was last reviewed in October 2026 and is reviewed whenever the site is updated.
